Privacy Policy
Effective 24 July 2026
The short version
Perusio is built to keep your documents on your phone. There is no account to create, nothing is stored or logged by Perusio, and the app keeps no history of what you read or ask. Standard documents never leave your phone; a document too long for on-device processing is handled by Apple’s Private Cloud Compute within Apple’s stack; and a document goes to a third-party service only when you choose to send it, after Perusio names exactly where it is going.
This policy covers both the Perusio iPhone app and this website (perusio.app). Perusio is operated by Christian Angelo M Sulit.
No account, nothing stored
Perusio does not require an account, sign-in, or profile. It is fire-and-forget: your documents, your questions, and the answers Perusio generates are held only for the active session and are discarded when you close the document. There is no saved library, no cross-session history, and nothing about your documents is stored on any server we control.
How your documents are processed
Perusio reads and answers using a tiered approach. The default path never leaves your device; the higher tiers exist only for documents the on-device path can’t handle, and third-party processing is never used without your explicit, per-document consent.
- On-device (default). Standard documents are read, summarized, and answered entirely on your iPhone using Apple Intelligence. No network connection is required and nothing leaves the device.
- Apple Private Cloud Compute (free, automatic for long documents). Some documents are too long to process entirely on-device. These are handled automatically by Apple’s Private Cloud Compute — no third party is involved, and no separate opt-in is required. According to Apple’s published design, your data is used only to complete that request, is not retained, and is not made accessible to Apple. This tier is free.
- Third-party cloud (paid, opt-in). Scanned or unusually large and complex documents can be processed by third-party services — a document-parsing provider (LlamaParse) and a large cloud model provider (for example, OpenAI). These providers process that one document under their own privacy terms and may retain it briefly to carry out the processing; Perusio sends it only to be processed and keeps no copy of its own. This path is never the default and never silent: before anything is sent, Perusio shows an in-app prompt that names the third parties and asks for your consent, for that one document. Declining keeps everything on your device.
What goes to a third party — and only if you choose
Nothing is sent to a third-party service unless you explicitly opt in for a specific document. Consent is granted per document, not once for everything, and it is requested at the moment it is needed. When you consent, only that individual document is sent to the named providers to be processed and returned; Perusio does not send your other documents, and does not retain a copy on our own servers.
This website
The perusio.app website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across other sites. It gives us aggregate, privacy-respecting page metrics — it does not build a profile of you or follow you around the web.
Launch notifications
If you enter your email address to be notified when Perusio launches, we use that address for one purpose only: to tell you the app is available. It is not used for unrelated marketing or shared with third parties, and you can ask us to remove it at any time by emailing hello@perusio.app.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the “Effective” date above will be updated. Material changes to how your data is handled will be reflected here before they take effect.
